Vivian Maier
Vivian maier was a street photographer in the 1950's to the 1990's. Her work was doscovered in Chicago where she lived some work that was discovered was around 100,000 mostly meduim format negatives, thousands of prints and countless rolls of undeveloped film. In 2007 John Maloof bought 30,000 prints and negatives that aquired the photographs from a storage locker that was sold off when she could no longer pay her fees. Maloof started aquire more and more of Vivians work he owns 100,000 to 15,000 negatives more then 3,000 vintage prints, hundreds of rolls of film home movies audio tapes some of her orginal cameras documents represting 90% of her work. He soon found out her name but was unable to find out more about her until after her death. Vivians work first got posted on the internet in 2008 by Ron Slattery who had also bought some of her work from an auction on 2009 John maloof also started to post her work on a blog page. Soon after her work being posted more and more people started becoming more interested in her work she is now known internationally with her work being used in galleries around the world and being all oveer the internet along with having books and exhibitions of her work.
